How the All 22 Pokémon Team Score works

The Team Score out of 1000 is the only number the game shows you. Here is how it is built from your 22 players, and what it means for your season.

1. Every player gets a fit for the spot they play

Each position has a recipe: a few base stats, sometimes weight and height, each scaled between a floor and a ceiling, plus a small bonus for one fitting type. That gives a fit from 0 to 100. A quarterback wants Special Attack and Special Defense; a nose tackle wants weight and HP. Every position page shows its recipe, and every Pokémon page shows its fit everywhere.

2. Fits are averaged, and some spots count more

In the slot offense the fullback spot becomes a slot receiver worth 6%, and the receivers and tight end give up a little. In the 4-3 the middle linebacker is worth 11% and the two tackles 8.5% each.

3. The weakest players pull the team down

The offense and defense averages are blended 50/50, then the four lowest fits on the whole field are averaged and count for 18% of the result. One 30 hiding at fullback costs you far more than its 4% share.

4. The result is stretched onto 0 to 1000

The raw number is mapped onto the 1000 scale with a steep top end, so 950 and 1000 take a near-perfect team. Each mode has its own scale: Retro (Gen 1 to 4) and the 151 Challenge rate the same team higher than the full 17–0, because their pools have lower stats. According to the game's own notes, about 0.1% of teams reach 950 and about 1 season in 100 goes 17–0.

5. The season is 17 weighted coin flips

Opponents are rated from 350 to 910. Each game's chance of winning depends on the gap between your Team Score and theirs, so even a perfect team can lose to the best opponents.
